George Ligon IV, M.Ed.

George Ligon IV, M.Ed. is an Associate and Mathematics Specialist at edCount, LLC, where he works on the New York State Department of Education large-scale alignment evaluation in grades 3-8. Mr. Ligon uses his content and Common Core expertise to assist in the development of mathematics test items.

Mr. Ligon served as a mathematics educator in low-performing schools and lent his expertise in mathematics to districts and organizations as a mathematics department head and mathematics test developer. Most recently, George has provided educational consulting services for school districts across the U.S. as well as for international clients, such as the Egyptian Knowledge Bank. In this capacity, he facilitated professional development via workshops and virtual webinars for K–12, higher education, and cooperate education partners, provided instructional support and educator coaching for math, science, technology, STEM, STEAM, health, physical education, ELA and special education content areas, and provided best practice instructional support for the use of educational resources. He has strong experience in writing, reviewing, and aligning assessments, curriculum, and professional development content to education standards, including Common Core.

Mr. Ligon earned a B.S. in Physical Education from the University of South Florida in 2006 and a Master’s in Educational Leadership as a Math Specialist Leader from George Mason University in 2013. He is currently a Doctoral Candidate in the Education Policy and Evaluation program at the Florida State University.
