Performance Level Descriptor Studies

edCount helps state-level clients compare their descriptions of different student performance levels (e.g., "advanced," "proficient," "basic") with student performance data, to ensure that their performance level descriptors (PLDs) accurately describe student ability, and to ensure the cut scores that sort students into these levels are appropriately placed.

After helping the Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center adapt performance level descriptors (PLDs) for its assessment system in 2009 and conducting a standard setting using these PLDs in 2010, edCount conducted a PLD study with Clerc Center stakeholders in 2012.
