Technical Advisory Committees: Convening, Facilitating, and Participating

edCount has convened assessment technical advisory committees (TACs) for the Puerto Rico Department of Education and the Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center. In addition, edCount's CEO and Chief Scientist, Ellen Forte, Ph.D., is a veteran TAC member, currently serving on seven annual and semi-annual TACs.

TACs are committees of nationally-renowned measurement experts who meet regularly to provide feedback and guidance to partners about how to improve and implement their assessment systems. edCount facilitates these meetings by helping set the agenda and preparing background material for the experts, and helps the partners decide how they will respond to feedback and guidance following each meeting.

edCount's CEO and Chief Scientist, Ellen Forte, Ph.D., also provides expert technical and policy guidance to numerous state education agencies (SEAs) and education companies as a TAC member. Currently, she participates in TACs regarding psychometrics and education policy and practice for the state education agencies (SEAs) of Louisiana, Montana, South Dakota, and Wyoming. She also serves on the TACs of Project Lead the Way, Curriculum Associates, and ACT, Inc.
