Providing Policy-Based Technical Assistance to State and District Leaders

edCount has conducted numerous technical assistance workshops to help state- and district-level administrators understand, implement, and develop responses to national education policy.

To support the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE), edCount partnered with Alpine Testing Solutions to conduct an independent verification of the validity of the Florida Standards Assessment in math and English language arts, grades 3 through high school. edCount conducted studies of the of how well Florida’s assessment content aligned with Florida’s academic standards, and contributed to a summary of commendations and recommendations.

Over the past decade, edCount has helped meet the high demand for technical assistance relating to Title III funding requirements and use. Specifically, edCount’s workshops have focused on helping administrators understand how to coordinate Title III programs with Title I programs while abiding by supplement-not-supplant guidelines. edCount has provided technical assistance on this topic to district administrators in Utah, members of the Council for Chief State School Officers (CCSSO)'s Title I Comprehensive Assessment (T1-CA) State Collaborative on Assessment and Student Standards (SCASS), and other attendees nationwide through multiple web-based seminars sponsored by Thompson Interactive.
