Kathryn Smith, B.S. is a Research Assistant at edCount, LLC, where she provides support to associates and senior staff in the execution of project tasks, research activities, report production, and proposal development. Ms. Smith has aided in the data analysis and report production for a large-scale alignment evaluation in grades 3 –8 Math for the New York State Department of Education (NYSED). Ms. Smith has also helped orchestrate virtual item writing training sessions and webinars for the NYSED project.
Ms. Smith received her B.S. in Political Science and Psychology in 2017 from the University of Pittsburgh. During her undergraduate studies, Ms. Smith worked as a Teaching Assistant and Family Involvement Coordinator at 4Kids Early Learning Center, as well as she interned for PA Representative Frank Dermody and the Department of City Planning in Pittsburgh. Ms. Smith worked as a Program Educator for the Pittsburgh Project, aiding the operation of a progressive series of afterschool and summer programs for more than 250 urban Pittsburgh elementary school students. At John Morrow Elementary School, a part of Pittsburgh Public Schools, Ms. Smith planned and implemented lessons based on the district assigned curriculum as a Substitute Teacher. Ms. Smith joined edCount in October 2018.
