Zora Elizabeth Rush, B. Phil.
Zora Rush is an Associate and ELA content specialist at edCount, LLC, where she works on the New York State Department of Education large-scale alignment evaluation in grades 3-8. Ms. Rush uses her content and Common Core expertise to assist in the development of ELA test items.
Ms. Rush has over 10 years of ELA and ESL experience at kindergarten through adult levels, both in the United States and abroad. Prior to working at edCount, Ms. Rush worked as an ELA Content Specialist at WestEd, where she worked to write, edit, and design assessment items, and as an Assessment Specialist at Pearson, where she managed the development of commissioned and permissioned passages. As the Director of Language Arts Curriculum at Edison Learning, Ms. Rush led a team of language arts teachers and subject matter experts in assessment development, online course development, and online teaching. As an ESL instructor abroad in both South Korea and Ukraine, Ms. Rush prepared curriculums and supplemental materials for K-12 and adult students and instructed students of all levels on written and spoken English.
Ms. Rush received a Bachelor of Philosophy from the University of Pittsburgh in 2002, with a major in Linguistics and minor in Russian and East European Studies. From 2004-2008, Ms. Rush participated in doctoral level studies in Linguistics and Slavic Languages and Literatures at Indiana University Bloomington. Ms. Rush joined edCount in November 2018.
