Tracy Fazio, M.Ed.
Tracy Fazio, M.Ed., is a Senior Associate and Mathematics Specialist at edCount, LLC. Ms. Fazio has more than a decade of experience leading mathematics initiatives at the classroom, school, district, and state levels. Ms. Fazio has served on multiple mathematics assessment development projects, both general and alternate assessment, in the role of mathematics content expert and mathematics content lead. Her expertise includes the development of training for and the facilitation of virtual and in-person math item writer workshops guiding educators in writing high-quality items, as well as reviewing draft items and providing feedback to educators. She has also revised mathematics item specifications and Performance Level Descriptors. Ms. Fazio has participated in assessment alignment evaluations as both expert panel member and expert panel facilitator for numerous state general and alternate assessment programs.
As a K-12 mathematics specialist within the Arizona Department of Education, Ms. Fazio provided leadership to educators across the state in best practices within mathematics instruction and participated in the team responsible for the initial roll out of the mathematics Common Core State Standards in Arizona. Ms. Fazio’s experience encompasses facilitating professional development for state and district-wide audiences, participation in content and standards alignment reviews of national and state assessments (item development, content and bias review, data review) and NCSC alternate assessment committee reviews. During her time as a mathematics teacher, Ms. Fazio was named a Rodel Exemplary Teacher by the Rodel Foundation of Arizona and Teacher of the Year.
Ms. Fazio received her M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix and her B.A. in Elementary Education from Arizona State University.
