edCount is honored to announce that Dr. Ellen Forte has been appointed to the Joint Committee for the revision of The Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing (The Standards). The Standards as a joint endeavor by the American Educational Research Association (AERA), the American Psychological Association (APA), and the National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME) were first published in 1966, and were revised and reissued in 1974, 1985, 1999, and 2014. The Joint Committee includes 16 members from across the three sponsoring organizations and their charge is to revise the 2014 version of the standards to ensure that they represent the professional expectations for assessments across the educational and psychological sectors. We at edCount, like others in testing professions, use The Standards to guide the decisions we make about all aspects of our work.
